  Prairies are in bloom
July and August are the peak times for our prairies, with various species of coneflowers and sunflowers, plus strikingly red cardinal and royal catchfly flowers.
Battelle Darby Creek and Prairie Oaks both have more than 500 acres of lush prairies. There are smaller, demonstration prairies (but still beautiful) at Blacklick Woods, Sharon Woods and Slate Run.
