There are hundreds of miles of trails in your Metro Parks, but you can explore the parks off-trail and find your own special places.

Try off trail between the Jaguar Trail ( bike path at Mock and Sunbury, jahuars were transported up present day Mock Road) to E. 5th, where the french fort stood. This area was a bastion of the fur and bird pelt trade. Surprising amount of pawpaw. One of the springs is closed off by a metal gate, so all is not perfect.
Thank you for the information, Cindy
Where can I get info about off trail areas, events, unique places, or other points of interest? for each park
Jonathan, you can go off-trail in the parks except in state nature preserves (https://www.metroparks.net/programs-and-activities/park-activities/#nature-preserves), designated conservation areas, or areas deemed to be hazardous or closed. You can see park maps at metroparks.net and also view programs and events from the Plan Your Visit menu.
