Clear Creek Metro Park, Fairfield and Hocking Counties
Managing wildlife and habitats is of the utmost importance to resource managers in the Metro Parks. Keeping wildlife populations in balance allows all plants and animals to thrive and provides the park experience the public enjoys. Once again, Clear Creek will be closed for the first three days of Deer Gun Season, November 28 through November 30, to allow a controlled deer hunt as part of our overall wildlife management program. Interested hunters can apply through the link provided below and around 100 will be drawn to participate. Continuing this year, both the selected hunter and their partner will be permitted to bring a youth hunter, aged 17 years or younger.

The hunt will take place on Monday and Tuesday of Deer Gun Week, November 28 and 29. We encourage all interested hunters to apply. Approximately 30 hunters will be randomly drawn to participate in this wildlife management program. 1. I have applied for deer hunts at Clear Creek and Slate Run Metro Parks; however, I do not know if both applications were received. Apparently the information is set up via Google and there is a question “switch account”. My wife is set-up with Google but i am not and we both use the same msn.com email also. She was not home when i applied for Clear Creek so i continued without completing “switch account” question. She came home just before completion of the Slate Run application and between the two of us we figured out what was needed. PLEASE CHECK TO MAKE SURE I SUCCESSFULLY MADE APPLICATION FOR CLEAR CREEK deer hunting.
    Thank you, Arthur Goswick, prittsgos7@msn.com

    1. Thank you, Arthur. I can confirm your application is in the system, name Arthur Goswick, and your msn email address

  2. I am an out-of-state hunter. I just applied for Slate run quota hunt. I was under the impression that each application cost money. I didn’t see any place for that. Also do I need to be present for the orientation or could my partner I have listed the present for that instead of me.

    1. Philip – there is no cost involved in the application. If you are selected from the lottery, the orientation materials will be emailed to you.

  3. I was just wondering if I was able to apply. I thought I applied over a month ago but didn’t receive a confirmation email that I can find and if I did how do I find out if I was selected? Thank you Kenneth Keaton

    1. Kenneth – we have received your applications for both the Clear Creek hunt and the Slate Run hunt. If you are successful in the lottery draw, you will be notified by email.

    1. Nick, the lottery hunt rules will be sent to selected hunters, and further explained at the orientation sessions.
