What is Bark Bash?
Bark Bash is the super-duper event of the summer for you and your canine friends. The inaugural Bark Bash replaces the cancelled WAG! Fest and won’t miss a beat, or a bark, at Prairie Oaks Metro Park on Saturday, August 24, 2024. The four-legged frolic gets underway at 10am and will keep Fido and Friends fully active and engaged in fun right through 4pm.
Activities Include:
- Stand-up paddling and kayaking with your pup and Metro Parks Outdoor Adventure. Limited canine lifejackets will be available, but you can also bring your own!
- Tie-dye a bandana for your four-legged friend with Friends of Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks.
- Take a stroll through the marketplace that includes canine vendors dedicated to all your pup’s needs, clubs and organizations dedicated to canines wellbeing and needs, and more.
- Take a hike with your pup or explore the off-leash dog beach area of the park.
- Cool off in the ice castle.

Excellent idea!
Thank you Metro Parks!
How much is the padded boarding and kacking ?
Hi Donna! Paddle boarding and kayaking is free 🙂
Are you going to use Zeke, the black pit/lab, that jumped from the dock into the pond a couple times while being filmed? I hope to see that.
Hi Paul – we were filming so that we would have footage available for a promotional video ahead of next year. Our videographers won’t be assembling the raw footage into a usable video any time soon, but do watch out for our video in August 2025 to see if Zeke made the cut!
