Annette and Andrew always make their Metro park adventures enticing!
Yes they do!
You didn’t show them trying to get out of the River at Osprey Park. What a muddy quagmire! When will improvements be made there? Started conversations about that with Park people in December 2018 and yet to see improvements. Hope something is going to happen soon as this is our favorite spot to kayak.
Hi, Karla. Metro Parks has met with various state and federal representatives and are working toward an agreeable design for this access point. We’re also looking into additional canoe access points along Big Darby Creek. Once we have the necessary permit approvals, construction can proceed.
Do you have kayaks for those that don’t have their own?
Hi, Barbara. You can rent kayaks through Trapper John’s or bring your own, but Metro Parks doesn’t rent them out. Thanks!
Where is a ramp to access creek for canoeing or kayaking?
Hi, Bonnie. There are two different access points. The Main Park Launch Area is located at 8465 Alkire Road, Galloway OH 43119. The Osprey Lake Launch Area is located at 5800 Harrisburg-Georgesville Road, Darbydale OH 43123.
