This past board meeting, held on March 14, 2017 at Blacklick Woods Metro Park, the Park Commissioners honored Ranger Josh Hough with a Lifesaving Award. While on patrol of Prairie Oaks on January 16, 2017, ranger Hough noticed a car parked in an area where parking was not allowed. Upon investigating, Ranger Hough discovered a visitor slumped over the steering wheel of the car who was unresponsive. He determined CPR was needed and initiated a call to first responders. He then was able to remove her from the vehicle and deploy the automated external defibrillator (AED). Ranger Hough then conducted CPR until the Prairie Township Fire Department medics arrived and took over. Thanks to ranger Hough for putting his first aid, CPR, and AED and Emergency Medical Responder training into action.
