Scott Brown, Central Region Liaison for the Ohio Auditor of State, presented the Auditor of State Award to the park district during the December Metro Parks Board of Commissioners meeting. The office audits nearly 4,200 entities each year and only 10% of these are eligible for the award.
Metro Parks files regular reports with the Auditor’s office, meeting all deadlines and using appropriate accounting principles. The audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings or questioned costs. They recognized the hard work of the administration, board and employees for making efforts to attain accounting excellence, especially praising the Finance Team for watching over every dollar. They also recognized Rick McGivern, Metro Parks Finance Director, for his leadership, professionalism and commitment to fiscal integrity. Metro Parks is pleased to accept the award and will display the plaque proudly in Metro Parks Headquarters.
