Scioto Fest 2021 is almost here!

Scioto Fest is back and loaded with tons of fun activities for you and your friends and family, including overnight camping. We’ve even got stuff for your furry best friend. Join us at Scioto Audubon Metro Park, Friday, September 17 through Saturday, September 18. Check out the festivities below.

Register for Saturday overnight camping here.  All campsites must be packed up and cleared out of the camping area by 9am on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

Friday Night:
Hours: 5pm-12am
Location: Area by the climbing wall
Activities!
5-8pm: Yappy Hour with Land-Grant Brewing Company & Foodtrucks!
6-8pm: Learn the Ropes with Outdoor Adventure
10pm-12am: Free climb/climb on your own
Movie Night: Soul – Will start at dark (around 8:00pm)
Southern Ohio Flying K9’s will be performing two shows (One at 6pm & one at 7:30pm)

Saturday:

Hours: 12pm-12am with overnight camping

Location: Central Activities Area (lot by the climbing wall)

Activities:

Outdoor Adventure programming: climbing competition, Try It! climbing, free climb, Try It! paddling and river floats

12-2:30pm: Learn the Ropes
Learn to climb on the outdoor climbing wall.  Equipment and instruction are provided. Recommended footwear are tennis shoes or climbing shoes. Open to all ages. First come, first served.
3-7pm Climbing Competition
3pm, 5pm   Downtown River Kayak Float*
Enjoy the view of downtown from the water on this three-mile round trip kayaking adventure.  Equipment and instruction are provided.  Solo, sit-in kayaks are provided, manufacturer recommend
ed max. weight of 275lbs.  Open to ages 10+. *Spaces limited, first come, first served sign up at the Info Tent in the Central Activities Area. 8pm-11pm S’mores Station
Makings for smores over the fire will be provided.
10pm-12am: Late Night Climb
The climbing wall will be illuminated for late night climbing with your own equipment.
11:30pm: Full Moon Yoga
Enjoy relaxing outdoor yoga under the full moon. Please provide a yoga mat. Meet by the Info Tent in the Central Activities Area.

12-8pm: Inflatables and family-friendly activities
3pm: OSU vs. Tulsa game on the big screen
8-11pm: Concerts: Mighty Troubadours and Hebdo

Friday Yoga: Join the Friends with certified yoga teacher Mike Rudd for a 60 minute Outdoor Flow & Meditation class at Scioto Audubon Metro Park. Bring a mat, water, and comfy clothes for moving! Meet by the volleyball courts at Scioto Audubon Metro Park from 4pm – 5pm and stay after for Yappy Hour at Scioto Fest!

Sunday Morning River Cleanup: Join the Friends of Metro Parks, Keep Columbus Clean Street Team, and Pacifico Preserves to help with a cleanup! Bring your own kayak, reserve one of ours, or stay on land to help give back to the Metro Parks by cleaning up a stretch of the Scioto River located right across from the Scioto Audubon park office. Meet at 10am in the parking lot by the boat launch, and let us know you’re coming by clicking this link!

  3. How is huge blacktop plot with a carnival atmosphere, including dogs (a lot of people have allergies to cats & dogs) a connection to Appreciating & taking care of Nature?

    1. Well Jan, the conditions create a self selecting group of like minded citizens who are all keen to enjoy each other’s company while staying at the Audubon. Allergic recluses less in favor of communing with others in one of the largest urban greenways in the US have plenty of options for remote communion with nature.
