185 Clear Creek Road, Rockbridge, OH 43149 (northern Hocking & southern Fairfield counties)

From I-270, take U.S. 33 east toward Lancaster. From Lancaster, continue on U.S. 33 south about 7 miles to Clear Creek Road (County Route 116 - Sunoco gas station on the corner). Turn right on Clear Creek Road. Picnic areas, facilities and trails are located along Clear Creek Road for the next 7 miles.

Trail Distance Details

  Creekside Meadow

2 miles; easy Walk; grass surface; Follows the banks of Clear Creek through open fields, leading to the Hemlock and Fern trails on the west and the Cemetery Ridge Trail on the east.

  Cemetery Ridge

2.5 miles; moderate to difficult Walk; dirt surface; Climbs about 700 feet through a woodland, and connects with the Chestnut and Fern trails at its western end.

  Fern

2 miles; moderate to difficult Walk; dirt surface; Climbs steadily for about a mile, and passes through a hardwood forest with hemlocks and native pines, then loops back along a steep ridge overlooking Clear Creek Valley.

  Hemlock

2 miles; difficult Walk; dirt surface; Passes through hemlock ravines and rises to the ridge top over rocky terrain with sandstone outcroppings.

  Chestnut

3 miles; difficult Walk; dirt surface; Connects the trails on the eastern side of the park with those in the west, skirting valleys with sandstone formations and crossing forested ridges.
  Barnabey Pet 1 mile (one way); easy to moderate Walk, pets; gravel surface; Forms the first mile of the Chestnut Trail from the west, crossing gently rolling terrain.

  Prairie Warbler

1 mile; easy to moderate Walk; dirt surface; Crosses a rolling hilltop and loops along the edges of woods and a prairie, connecting to the Tulip Tree Trail.

  Tulip Tree

0.75 miles; easy to moderate Walk; dirt surface; Loops through a woodland along a rolling hillside.

  Lake

0.75 miles; moderate to difficult Walk; dirt surface; Passes through woodlands and connects to an observation deck on Lake Ramona.
