Education

Metro Parks' naturalists and staff offer free programs and activities throughout the year for people of all ages, interests and ability levels.

Family and individual programs are listed in the program pages of this site. You may also pick up a copy of the Parkscope, our quarterly program and information publication at any of our 16 parks or call 614.891.0700 to receive a free copy.

Metro Parks' Resource Management team works continually to ensure that our parkland is maintained in a natural or scientifically managed state to ensure the widest possible diversity of wildlife habitats.  




Educators  -- This page has information for Educators – teachers in public and private schools as well as home school instructors and group leaders of both adult and youth groups. Descriptions of the types of programs Metro Parks offers groups, as well as contact information for scheduling these programs is on this page.

Metro Parks Explorers  -- For the Metro Parks Explorer program, those 18 years old or younger can earn a patch by attending 5 or more programs. Information and a picture of the patch are available on this page.

Metro Five-0  -- For those 50 years and older (Metro Five-0) Metro Parks offers a variety of programs outlined on this page.

Nature centers  -- On this page, find information about the nature centers located in Blacklick Woods, Blendon Woods and Highbanks Metro Parks.

Natural Play Areas  -- Find information about areas where you and your family are free to climb, dig, build and explore. Natural Play Areas are located at Battelle Darby Creek, Highbanks, Prairie Oaks, Sharon Woods and Three Creeks.
 

Resource Management   -- Metro Parks Resource Management projects as well as information about  prairies and grasslands, wetlands, and white tailed deer are outlined on this page.
